Further Information

Communication with parents

It is very important that parents feel involved with their children’s first experiences of education outside the home. We keep parents informed of termly topics and weekly projects via email and the parents’ notice board. Each child has a Home/School book in which group teachers write a brief summary of the children’s activities on a daily basis. We also arrange twice yearly parent/teacher progress reports. However, parents and carers are always welcome to contact Hilary or the group teachers to have a chat face to face if they have any concerns or any other matters they would like to discuss.

“Parents are tremendously happy with the setting. For example, they comment on their children’s excellent progress and how staff share details of this with them” OFSTED inspection report April 2016

Preparing for Elmdon

One introductory session (or more) is arranged for all children the term before they are due to begin. Parents and carers are encouraged to help with the settling in process, to which we have a flexible approach so that each individual’s needs can be met.

Policies

Copies of our regularly updated policies are kept on site for parents to access at any time.

Funding

2 year old children eligible for FEET funding are welcome.

3 and 4 year olds receive FEE funding for up to 15 hours. Some parents may be eligible for 15+ hours and the government tax free childcare scheme.

We also accept workplace voucher schemes.

Please feel free to contact Hilary about any of the above. You will find more detailed information on government funding at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
